Title 1 / Supplemental Education Services (SES)

Title I, Part A is a federal program that serves the unique needs of children - kindergarten to grade 12 - who struggle to learn.  Title I programs provide customized instruction and curricula that helps these students meet academic standards and take an active, engaged interest in what they learn and can do.  As the oldest and largest federal education program, Title I programs build equity of opportunity for children whose struggles often keep them on the academic sidelines.

Additional information on Title I can be found on the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) website.

In step 2 of a school improvement program, the district must offer opportunities for additional instruction - supplemental educational services - designed to increase academic achievement.  Supplemental Education Services (SES) are unique schools that operate a Title I, Part A program, and available to students whose families qualify as low income.

Additional information on SES can be found on the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) website.
