MTA and NMSD Transportation with surplus van

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NORTH MASON SCHOOL DISTRICT RECEIVES VAN THROUGH MASON TRANSIT AUTHORITY GRANT

BELFAIR, WA - North Mason School District (NMSD) received a van through Mason Transit Authority (MTA) as part of their van grant program, which awarded three surplus, 7-passenger vans to lucky Mason county organizations.

Having an extra van in the district will significantly assist in transporting students that go out of the county to special schools. It will also free up one of the larger vans for smaller teams needing transportation. These benefits, along with miles driven and students served, will be captured in quarterly reports submitted to MTA as part of van grant program.

“I am so appreciative of this partnership with MTA,” shared Maurine Simons, NMSD Transportation Director, “because of the benefits the partnership fosters in supporting our students.”

The van will be incorporated into the North Mason fleet of vehicles after it goes through the required procedures and inspections, which should take 2-3 weeks.
